Jack Billings has gone from a Saint to a Demon, with St Kilda today finalising a trade for the 28-year-old.

In exchange for Billings, the Saints receive a future third-round pick from Melbourne.

After some early season injuries, Billings fought his way back into the senior side by mid-year, however further injury setbacks and the strength of the Saints’ side kept him out of the team in the back half of the season.

“Jack has been an influential and much respected member of our playing list for many years, playing more than 150 games for the club,” List Manager Stephen Silvagni said.

“However, through recent discussions with Jack and his management, we believe this trade will be the best move not only for our list but for Jack’s future too.

Throughout his time at the Saints, Jack has been the ultimate professional, endearing himself not only to the people inside our club but also the Saints faithful.

“We wish Jack all the best for his time at Melbourne.”

Billings joined the Saints via pick No. 3 in the 2013 National Draft.

Having made his debut in Round 1 of the 2014 season, Billings went on to play a total of 155 games in the red, white and black.

Following this trade, St Kilda currently holds picks 13, 21 and 40.
