McDONALD’S restaurants around Australia were transformed on Saturday for the annual McHappy Day, which helps raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Part of McHappy day involved Australian celebrities jumping behind the counter at McDonald’s with $2 from every Big Mac sold going towards the 14 Ronald McDonald houses around the country.

Funds also go towards building new Ronald McDonald Houses, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, Ronald McDonald Family Retreats and providing more resources for the Ronald McDonald Learning Program.

St Kilda small forward Ahmed Saad was one such celebrity when he stopped in at the Templestowe McDonald’s to help out on Saturday afternoon.

Saad said it was a delight to help out on the day.

“A lot of people who are struggling with some very significant problems rely heavily on Ronald McDonald House Charities,” Saad said.

“Saturday was a great day out and I would be happy to help out again in any way possible.”
