THEIR teammates and coaches may be in Boulder, Colorado on a pre-season trip, but Dylan Roberton, Nathan Wright and Lewis Pierce aren’t twiddling their thumbs idly in their absence.

The trio are all recovering from injury and remained in Melbourne to further their rehabilitation ahead of the 2014 season.

Last Tuesday Roberton, Wright and Pierce lent a helping hand at Melbourne’s Luna Park, signing autographs and going on rides with kids who were either seriously ill or underprivileged.

It was all for a good cause for The Shane Warne Foundation’s family day with 200 kids and carers turning up to meet the players and ride the attractions of Luna Park.

The Shane Warne foundation supports other charities around Australia, including St Kilda’s icon charity partner Challenge (Trevor Barker Foundation).

One parent was especially grateful and praised the friendliness of the three Saints.

“Our biggest highlight was meeting the Saints guys who were fantastic with my children. My son, who has been very ill with cancer, had the most fun out of all of us,” she said.

“He loved his Saints gifts that the boys gave him. To see him so happy made my year and I can’t thank you enough.”
