On Monday night St Kilda's Head of Football Chris Pelchen hosted a live Twitter conversation for over an hour. The response was overwhelming. Here is a full summary of the discussion.

Pelchen on pick one: We wouldn’t like to speculate in public who the player is, but we’ve certainly narrowed it down to a couple of players.

Pelchen on Tom Lee: Tom has been limited by injury over the last 12-18 months, hence we are still yet to see the best from him. He still has a role to play.

Pelchen on Dylan Shiel: Dylan’s name hasn’t been raised [in trade discussions] at this stage.

Pelchen on Jarryd Lyons: We’ve had no discussions about Jarryd to this point.

Pelchen on Lenny Hayes: We are still very keen to have Lenny involved in some capacity next year, but he is still working through a number of options.

Pelchen on Tim Membrey: It’s difficult to specify an exact time frame [that the deal will get done], but we're encouraged by our initial discussions. Tim is a mobile forward who can play both high and deep roles. We anticipate he'll play a similar role at Jack Gunston at Haw.

Pelchen on Jack Steven’s contract situation: There has been no stalling of contract discussions. We're certainly speaking to his management and are hopeful of extending his deal.

Pelchen on Taylor Hunt: Apart from preliminary discussions internally, we haven't taken interest in Taylor any further.

Pelchen on the possibility of trading picks 1 and 22 for picks 2 and 3: I don't wish to speculate on potential deals in a public forum, except to say that we are open to all offers.

Pelchen on Adam Schneider: We would welcome Adam remaining with the Saints subject to sufficient list positions being available.

Pelchen on Sandringham midfielder Adam Cockie: Adam had another strong season with the Zebras and will be discussed further like a number of Sandringham players.

Pelchen on St Kilda’s plans for free agency: Free agency forms a very important part of our strategic plan beyond 2015.

Pelchen on Maverick Weller: Maverick's management and the club have agreed that he will remain with the us next year either as a senior listed or rookie.
Pelchen on what will be considered a successful 2015 season: In simple terms, continued improvement. We need to see further development across the whole player list as we build towards 2020. Our improvement will be judged on the development of our player list, rather than wins or losses.

Pelchen on this year’s draft pool: While 4-5 players have been widely spoken about at the top end, there are another 20-25 players who represent a strong pool.

Pelchen on positional needs versus overall talent: It's difficult to specify one need over another at this stage of our recruiting model, hence we will recruiting for talent.

Pelchen on the rumours he was headed to Carlton: I'm very happy at the Saints and looking forward to working with the other guys on what we believe is a strong future.

Pelchen on what St Kilda would hypothetically trade pick one for: It will more than likely to involve draft picks than a standalone player.

Pelchen on David Armitage: We don't like to make close-ended statements on anyone, suffice to say it would very, very unlikely that David will be traded.

Pelchen on Port Adelaide player Cam O’Shea: Obviously Richo and Cam worked closely together at PA so there is interest in him, but we have other priorities to explore.

Pelchen on the rumours that Adam Tomlinson could be part of a trade for pick one: We don't wish to speculate on players that may be involved with pick one, but Adam would certainly be an attractive addition.

Pelchen on Ahmed Saad: Ahmed is having ongoing communication with the club via his management & will be considered to re-join us at the right time.
Pelchen on how many players St Kilda is looking to select in the National Draft: Four to five players.

Pelchen on Arryn Siposs: Arryn has had a difficult year due to injury, but he is determined to return to the seniors in 2015. He's already training.
Pelchen on Lachie Weller (Maverick’s younger brother): Lachie is a talented young player & will be a relatively high draft selection. We'll consider him relative to any other player.

Pelchen on Levi Greenwood: Levi was discussed with his management in recent weeks, but we elected not to pursue him further.

Pelchen on Jeremy Cameron: Jeremy would be a welcome addition to the Saints, but he's currently contracted to GWS & I would suspect unlikely to move.

Pelchen on the 2014 father/son prospects and academy selections: There were 2-3 players that we discussed at length, but ultimately chose not to make bids for because of our draft position.

Pelchen on pick one in the pre-season draft: A number of players have been discussed for our number one selection in the pre-season draft. Is yet to be determined.

Pelchen on Daniel Markworth: We're still very encouraged by Daniel's footy ability & anticipate him returning to push for AFL selection next year.

Pelchen on free agency compensation: Compensation for Free Agency is a difficult process & whether this was fair is best determined by others.

Pelchen on Nick Riewoldt’s longevity: Difficult to suggest how long Nick will play for, but his form in 2014 would suggest he will play for some time yet.
Pelchen on Terry Milera: Terry's name was raised with both SA clubs today & we will support his return home for personal reasons.

Pelchen on the possibility of a premiership in the next 10 years: As per our strategic plan, we're confident of achieving our next premiership in that time frame.

Pelchen on Peta Searle: Peta has been a great addition to the club. She is professional, committed, & displays outstanding initiative.

Pelchen on Jason Holmes: Jason Holmes' development across 2014 was a welcome surprise to everyone at the club. He'll be seriously considered in 2015.

Pelchen on St Kilda’s Father/Son academy: We have a number of boys becoming available for selection in the next 2-3 years.

Pelchen on Leigh Montagna: Leigh is contracted and required beyond 2014.

Pelchen on the 2015 leadership group: We're still yet to determine our leadership group for 2015, but we anticipate Nick remaining in a prominent role.

Pelchen on Jack Steven: As I've indicated with other players, I don't wish to speculate on individuals, except to say very, very unlikely [that he will be traded].

Pelchen on Christian Petracca: Christian has been an outstanding performer at U18 level this year & will certainly come under strong consideration.
