ST KILDA will take on GWS in the opening round of the 2015 season, the AFL released on Tuesday evening.

The Saints will host the Giants at Etihad Stadium on Sunday April 5, two days after Good Friday which will again be without any AFL football.

Alan Richardson's men played GWS once in 2014, a round two clash in which St Kilda narrowly defeated the Giants under blue skies with the Etihad roof open.

Eli Templeton's late goal sealed the game, while David Armitage took a towering mark and Nick Riewoldt was awarded two Brownlow Medal Votes.
