ST KILDA will return to Etihad Stadium for the NAB Challenge in 2015 with the AFL announcing the pre-season competition fixture on Tuesday morning.
The NAB Challenge will be held from Thursday 26th February to Sunday 22nd March in a 16-day format that will see the Saints play three games across the country.
St Kilda will kick off its first game against Brisbane Lions in Brisbane on Saturday 28th February, before heading to Gippsland to take on Essendon in Morwell on Saturday 7th March.
The club’s pre-season campaign will conclude at Etihad Stadium on Thursday 19th March when the Saints go up against the reigning premier, Hawthorn.
St Kilda CEO Matt Finnis said the NAB Challenge gives the club’s supporters a chance to watch the team live in regional and metropolitan venues across the country.
“The NAB pre-season schedule gives our loyal and passionate Queensland fans a chance to watch the team live as well as a nice mix of a weekend game in country Victoria and a Thursday night game at Etihad Stadium.
“We have a committed South East Queensland supporters group who always turn out in force at our games against the Brisbane Lions and Gold Coast so we are excited about another opportunity to play in front of them. We also have a tremendous following throughout the Gippsland area thanks to connections with several past players and we look forward to bringing the Saints to them with a game in Morwell.
Unlike last year, we will also have the chance to play a pre-season game at our home ground, Etihad Stadium. This Thursday night clash will be a great summer game for fans based in our heartland to come and see why we are so excited about our emerging team including the 19 players that recently signed up as part of Saints Future Fest!”
