16 SAINTS recorded personal bests in Monday morning's 2km time trial at Casey Fields Athletics Track.

In difficult conditions for running, Jarryn Geary led the 33-man field from start to finish, registering a time of 6 minutes 13 seconds, marginally missing his personal best.

St Kilda High Performance Manager and former Olympian Adam Basil said he was pleased to see many of the players rewarded for their hard work over the past 6-8 weeks.

"16 personal best times is a terrific result," Basil told SAINTS.com.au.

"The windy and wet conditions made things difficult, but to the boys credit they worked extremely hard and didn't leave anything out on the track."

Veteran defender Sean Dempster finished in second place, just ahead of Jack Newnes.

Former Gold Coast Sun Jeremy Taylor was fourth, while David Armitage rounded out the top five.

Having signed a two-year deal, Maverick Weller ran a personal best time and came sixth, just one second ahead of Farren Ray and three seconds in front of Nathan Wright.

Brodie Murdoch also impressed, finishing ninth ahead of Blake Acres in 10th position.
