ST KILDA Director Ian McLeod has stepped down from the board after accepting a role in Florida, USA as President and Chief Executive Officer of Bi-Lo Holdings.

He had previously been the Commercial Director of Wesfarmers.

A St Kilda Director since 2009, McLeod had previously also been CEO of Celtic plc, the listed company controlling Celtic Football Club, and a Non-Executive Director of the Fulham Football Club.

He has also spent time as a Board Director of Melbourne Victory.

McLeod said that while he would step away from being involved with the Saints in an official capacity, he would continue to support the club.

“I have truly enjoyed being a part of St Kilda for the past five years,” McLeod said.

“During this time the club played in three Grand Finals which was incredibly exciting, although it was disappointing not to experience a premiership.

“I am very positive about what the future has to offer for the Saints and I believe there is a solid leadership in place at the club.

“I will be following the Saints closely from afar and look forward to the next time we challenge for a flag.”

St Kilda President Peter Summers thanked McLeod for his contribution to St Kilda.

“With an extensive background in business and sport both in Australia and abroad, Ian brought a unique and valuable perspective to the St Kilda board,” Summers said.

“He has been an important asset to the board both in times of success and times of challenge.

“We wish Ian well for his future endeavours and trust that he will always be a part of the St Kilda family.”
