SAM Fisher could not have written a better script for his 200th game if he had tried.

Cheered on by dozens of family members and friends who attended the match, Fisher’s Saints enjoyed a 28-point victory over Gold Coast on its home turf.

Fisher lifted for the contest, amassing 24 disposals at 92 per cent efficiency, including eight marks, and six rebound 50s.

Before the game, Terry Fisher presented his son with his guernsey ahead of his 200th game and took the chance to give the team a rev up.

“Sam’s had great support from a lot of very good coaches and support staff [over the journey],” Terry Fisher told the playing group.

“Tonight, what you boys do on the oval defines your future. Play team footy, work hard and let’s all do this together.

As he paid tribute to his 32-year-old son, Fisher encouraged the playing group to “build for the future.”

“Sam’s been there and done it all,” he said.

“But it’s you fellas now who can take this further. Work your butts off, enjoy your footy, and give it everything you’ve got. You’ve got great people around you.”

St Kilda clearly heeded these inspiring words, skipping out to an early lead and then effectively putting the game to bed with an eight-goal second term.

As always, Fisher was an integral player in the win and held Suns forward Sam Day goalless.

“It’s good to have some family and support up here,” Fisher said at the club’s open training session the night before.

“I probably haven’t put too much of an emphasis on my 200th game, but to have the support of friends and family up here is amazing.”

To further celebrate the occasion, Fisher’s four-year-old god son Jax was the game day mascot and ran through the banner with the team.
