MIDFIELDER Tom Curren has been recalled to St Kilda's lineup following a strong performance in the VFL last week.

The 22-year-old replaces Maverick Weller, who will miss one week with a minor calf strain.

UPDATED: Injury list

Blake Acres, Tom Hickey and Darren Minchington are the emergencies for the Anzac Day game, which will be played at Westpac Stadium in Wellington on the historic 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landing.

"Tom will come back in and play a very similar role to the one he played against the Suns as a small forward with the potential to go through the midfield," Alan Richardson told SAINTS.com.au.

"Mav has pulled a little bit sore and our expectation was that he would be right to play. Unfortunately he didn’t quite get up which is disappointing. He will be right for round five."

Curren had 19 disposals, four tackles and six inside 50s in Sandringham's thrilling VFL win on Sunday, a performance that drew praise from coach Paul Hudson.

"Tommy was very similar to Darren [Minchington] but probably had a few more marks around the ground," Hudson said in his VFL review.

"He always works extremely hard and Sunday was no different."

The former rookie was St Kilda's primary tagger for the first nine rounds last year, holding Dyson Heppell and Tom Rockliff  to 17 disposals apiece and Patrick Dangerfield to just 19 possessions.

Meanwhile, Jack Lonie is fit to play after jarring his knee last Friday night, while Jarryn Geary will skipper St Kilda for the first time in Nick Riewoldt's absence.
