NICK Riewoldt will miss this Saturday’s clash with West Coast after he was concussed in last week’s match against Adelaide.

Riewoldt was carried from the ground after clashing heads with Crow Brodie Smith and spent Saturday night in Royal Adelaide Hospital before flying home on Sunday.

"Nick is in good spirits and has recovered pretty well," Head Physio Andrew Wallis told SAINTS.com.au.

"Clearly he is unavailable this week but he will go further medical testing next week before a decision on his availability is made."

It was his first concussion this year and he will join Arryn Siposs, Daniel Markworth and Sam Gilbert on the sidelines this week.

"We've taken a precautionary approach with Sam," Wallis said.

"He tweaked his quadricep muscle last week at training. Given that he hasn't had great preparation, we thought we would rule him out this week and make him available to play for Sandringham next week."

UPDATED: Injury list

Small forward Jack Lonie will continue to be assessed after also receiving contact to the head and has been listed as a test, while Leigh Montagna is a chance to return to the team after being a late withdrawal on Saturday with hamstring tightness.

"Leigh has to pass testing," Wallis said.

"He is due to train today and Thursday and then we will make a decision based on how he gets through that."

Seb Ross will also make his return to football from a hamstring injury when he lines up for St Kilda’s VFL team Sandringham against Box Hill this Sunday. His return from the long-term injury list means Jack Sinclair will return to the rookie list.

Jarryn Geary, who didn't play against the Crows due to a corky, is also listed as a test this week.
