SEB Ross will officially return to St Kilda’s senior list on Thursday, replacing Jack Sinclair who was nominated as the left-footer’s replacement two months ago when Ross tore his hamstring.

“Jack Sinclair was elevated from the rookie list to the primary list as a long-term injury replacement for Seb Ross,” St Kilda’s Chief Operating Officer Ameet Bains told SAINTS.com.au.

“Seb is due to return to the VFL this weekend and in order for him to play again, he has to come off the long-term injury list and back onto the primary list.

“Unfortunately for Jack, this means he has to go back to the rookie list.”

Although Sinclair will return to the rookie list and VFL football, Bains said the door remains ajar for the 20-year-old to return to the senior list later in the season.

“For Jack to play senior footy again this year, there are a couple of different options that are available to the club,” he said.

“One is that if there is another long-term injury, then he can be elevated in place of that player.

“The second is the club has the ability – which we will use – to nominate a rookie from the mid-season point of view at round 11 to be elevated to the senior list. That player will then be elevated for the rest of the year and will not be tied to an injured player.”

Every club has the ability to nominate a rookie to be elevated at this time, subject to having enough Total Player Payment space.

St Kilda elevated three rookies three days before the club’s round one clash against GWS.

Adam Schneider was promoted for Daniel Markworth, Ahmed Saad for Arryn Siposs and Sinclair for Ross.

Markworth and Siposs are due to return to football in three weeks, while Ross will play for Sandringham against Box Hill Hawks this Sunday.

Sinclair has impressed in throughout his seven-game stint, averaging 13 disposals per outing and booting seven goals.

Jack Sinclair came on as the sub against the Bulldogs and was an integral part of the comeback.
