RICHMOND is wary of St Kilda’s slick ball movement, according to Tigers coach Damien Hardwick.

Speaking on AFL 360 on Thursday evening, Hardwick suggested the Saints’ ability to win the ball back from their opponents make them a dangerous proposition this Sunday.

“They’ve been very good in a number of areas,” Hardwick told SAINTS.com.au.

“Their pressure in their forward 50 is very good but probably the thing they’ve been elite at is scores from turnovers.”

And when St Kilda’s raft of ball-winners gain possession, they have proven they are prolific. David Armitage is trails only Dan Hannebery for total disposals AFL-wide, while Jack Steven is ranked 11th.

The Saints have scored from 40 per cent of their forward half intercepts in 2015, ranked number one in the AFL.

“People look at St Kilda and they don’t think that, but from our point of view they are moving the ball very well.

“We spoke to our guys about the ability to nullify that, because if we allow the Saints time and space to move the ball then they will move it well and score.”
