MAVERICK Weller has been nominated for the AFL Goal of the Year.

The midfielder booted two first half goals against Richmond in round 16, but it was his remarkable running finish late in the fourth term that drew the attention of the AFL's judges.

Weller gathered the ball in the centre of the ground, accelerated away from Taylor Hunt, took two bounces and kicked it home from 50 metres out.
