THE Burke and Frawley names are still dominating the Victorian sporting landscape, long after two of St Kilda’s most popular captains finished their football careers.

Nathan and Fiona Burke and Danny and Anita Frawley’s daughters are excelling in a number of sports, including netball, rowing, touch football, basketball, and in the Burke’s case – soccer.

Ruby Burke, Molly Burke and Alice Burke have all been named in the School Sport Victoria under 19 girls soccer team to compete at the Pacific School Games in Adelaide this November.

The three girls attend Star of the Sea College in Brighton and like their dad, are ever reliable in the way they play their sport.

Ruby (16) started as a striker but plays centre back nowadays. She was captain of the Victorian Futsal team (indoor soccer) at the National Championships in Sydney earlier this year.

Molly (15) is a defensive midfielder who loves the competitive side of the game. She is also a skilful futsal player and has represented Victoria in this form as well.

Alice (12) is a talented cross country runner, having competed for her school at the Victorian All School Cross Country relay event. As a left-back, she can also push high up to the wing.

Recently Alice and Molly arrived back from Coffs Harbour where they skippered their respective Victorian teams in the National Youth Championships.

Nathan Burke said he enjoyed watching his daughters compete almost as much as he enjoyed playing footy himself.

“It makes my week,” Burke told SAINTS.com.au.

“If they don’t have a game I get withdrawal symptoms and don’t know what to do with myself.”

Much like the Burke’s girls, the Frawleys have followed in their dad’s footsteps on the sporting field.

Chelsea (22) rowed for Victoria in the 2012 and 2013 National Championships before competing at the 2013 Youth Olympic Festival.

Ahead of the 2014 and 2015 seasons, she won a scholarship to Syracuse University in New York and rowed in the first varsity in those years.

The accolades do not stop there, with Chelsea the fourth fastest rower in Syracuse University history with an ergo score of 6:56.2 for 2km. She’s back living at home now preparing to have a crack at Rio 2016 Olympics.

Danielle (19) completed year 12 at Haileybury Girls College where she was sports captain. Aside from representing the state for touch rugby in 2013, she has excelled for Bayside Netball Club as a goal defence since 2010.

Keeley (15) has represented Victoria for netball and more recently basketball. A shooting guard, she is in the National Performance Program for Basketball Australia.
