Sandringham senior coach and St Kilda development coach Paul Hudson runs a ruler over the individual performance of the Saints-listed players following Saturday's win.

MATCH REPORT: Sandringham secures home final

VFL STATS: Round 20

Luke Delaney

Luke played up forward for us because Paddy McCartin, Tim Membrey and Spencer White didn’t play. He has a lot more respect for the forwards now that he has played up there – he didn’t realise how hard it was! Luke had a good game, providing a marking target for us and kicking 1.2.

Daniel McKenzie

Daniel spent most of the game on the wing and a little bit through the midfield. He was a bit rusty after having a couple of weeks off with concussion, but I’m sure he will be better for the run. He was just a bit underdone but still did some really courageous things.

Lewis Pierce

Lewis was outstanding. He didn’t win the hit outs, but he made Mark Jamar earn every one of his. He covered the outlets really well and intercepted a few. He was able to get off Jamar and find the ball around the ground. It was a terrific performance from Lewis. 16 handballs indicated that he followed up. We won the clearances and he and Clint Jones had a lot to do with this.

Ahmed Saad

Ahmed had a real opportunist game. He kicked four goals from eight disposals and looked dangerous all afternoon. His positioning, especially at the front of contests, has improved dramatically in recent week and now he is reaping the rewards.

Josh Saunders

Josh played a typically productive game. Although he had more handballs than kicks, it didn’t concern me as much because he didn’t turn the ball over with these handballs. He worked extremely hard as a high half forward and through the wing. Structurally he was good for us.

Cameron Shenton

Cam was workmanlike for us. He kicked a goal from about 60 metres out and defended well too. He probably wasn’t as damaging with his foot skills as what he normally is but he still played a good game.

Daniel Markworth

Daniel had a very solid game. He physically imposed himself and his tackling was strong. He played mostly on the wing and started the match especially well. I'm most pleased with the way he's cracking in and winning his own footy at the moment.

Tom Simpkin

Tommy sustained a minor corky early in the game which hindered his running a touch. He played mostly in defence and did well. We expect him to be fine for this week.

Arryn Siposs

I was really pleased for Arryn. He had 11 clearances for the game which was a great return. He’s damaging because he can kick off one step and the ball can travel 70 metres. He contributed to our direct ball use in a big way.
