ALAN Richardson will travel to the United States later this month to further his personal development and learn from some of the world’s most renowned coaches.

The senior coach, who has just completed his second full season in charge at the Saints, will spend two weeks abroad, beginning in Cleveland at the Browns (NFL) and the Cavaliers (NBA), before travelling to Harvard University in Boston for a leadership course in the second week of his trip.

“The Browns will be a great opportunity to see how another elite sporting organisation goes about every facet of their work including coaching, teaching, reviewing and planning,” Richardson said.

“The leadership course focuses on authentic leadership and gaining a greater understanding of your strengths and weakness as a leader. A key aspect is receiving confidential peer feedback about your work as a leader.”
