St Kilda’s pre-season campaign will ramp up a notch on Friday with the club’s annual intra-club match set to be held at Trevor Barker Oval in Sandringham at 5pm.

Following several weeks of match simulation at training, Friday’s internal practice match will be the Saints final hit-out ahead of next weekend’s NAB Challenge series.

With the home and away season approaching, GM – Football Performance Jamie Cox says the intra-club is an important part of the club’s preparations, particularly from a conditioning perspective.

“First and foremost, the intraclub match provides our players with a great opportunity to get some minutes into their legs before the NAB Challenge series starts next week,” Cox told saints.com.au.

“The game will showcase a handful of our top-end young talent, including players we recruited at last year’s draft.”

With a wave of young top-end talent currently coming through the Saints and a collection of experience at the other end of the scale showing no signs of slowing down, St Kilda supporters will get their first opportunity of 2016 to see their favourite players in action.

The St Kilda Social Club will be hosting a sausage sizzle and holding a raffle on the day, cold drinks will be available and Dare Iced Coffee will be providing giveaways.

2016 St Kilda memberships will be on sale at the ground, as will all the latest official Saints merchandise.
