St Kilda Football Club is thrilled to launch Junction Studio – the club’s fresh, new platform for engaging with the community.

The primary objective of Junction Studio is to enable St Kilda FC to support the communities that have for so long supported the club.

Through Junction Studio, the Saints will coordinate a variety of exciting projects that range from workshops focused on developing young leaders, improving skills and promoting wellbeing, to music gigs and exhibitions, and fresh footy clinics.

Junction Studio will continue to work with the club’s valued charity partners Trevor Barker Foundation, Sacred Heart Mission, Soldier On and Blue Ribbon, and will develop new initiatives with organisations such as the Song Room and the Luke Batty Foundation, among others.

In launching St Kilda’s new approach to community engagement, CEO Matt Finnis outlined the club’s vision for Junction Studio.

“Junction Studio is a place that brings together community, elite football, and our unique ‘St Kilda spirit’ of belonging, which gives all involved the opportunity to be the best and brightest version of themselves,” he said.

“Working with the community is not new for us, but Junction Studio will provide a clear, distinct and lasting platform to collaborate with the community that encourages creative thinking and nurtures new ideas.

“Junction Studio is both online, and on wheels, brought to life through digital and ‘pop up’ events, campaigns, and programs.

“It will also have a bricks and mortar space at the club’s new development in Moorabbin, and pop up spaces across bayside communities and beyond. These will house a number of community functions and initiatives,” Finnis said.

A nod to the club’s heritage both at Junction Oval and the Moorabbin Junction, the title of the new platform has been carefully chosen. A ‘junction’ is a place where ideas, opportunities, or people merge and ‘studios’ are spaces where new creations are born, and passionate work is done.

At Junction Studio community projects will be planned, purposeful, and aligned with the club’s values to have significant and positive impacts.

Junction Studio is fiercely committed to four areas of focus (or ‘quarters’), which reflect the club’s definitive spirit. The ‘four quarters’ of Junction Studio are:

Leadership
- Developing local leaders and playing a role of social leadership within the broader community

Wellbeing
- Leveraging the club’s genuine and credible position as an elite sport organisation to positively influence the wellbeing of others

Creativity
- Enabling, celebrating and curating creative pursuits within St Kilda FC’s local communities, focusing on those who share a passion for footy and sport

Diversity
- Welcoming and accepting all, and encouraging such openness in others. St Kilda is the great equaliser, where everyone belongs

People will be able to follow Junction Studio activities on Twitter (@junctionstudio) and Instagram (@junctionstudio) or a new standalone website to be launched soon.
