St Kilda rebounding defender Brandon White will make his AFL debut on Sunday after being named in the Saints’ 25-man squad to face Brisbane at Etihad Stadium, along with key defender Sam Fisher.

The Saints’ second selection in last year’s National Draft – pick No. 40 – earns his first taste of senior football after pressing for a spot in recent weeks, while dual Trevor Barker Award winner Fisher returns from a hamstring strain.

Key forward Paddy McCartin is the only confirmed out at this stage, after the 2014 No. 1 pick broke his collarbone in the opening quarter of last Saturday’s nine-point win over Richmond.

Tom Hickey won’t face the Lions after failing to prove his fitness in time after injuring his calf a fortnight ago against Sydney. But another ruckman, Lewis Pierce, has been added to the initial squad, along with midfielder Jack Sinclair. The squad will be trimmed to a final 22 on Friday afternoon.

White becomes St Kilda’s third debutant for 2016, following fellow draftee Jade Gresham in Round 1 and Pierce in Round 12, after making an impact at Sandringham in his first year at Linen House Centre.

The 19-year-old has been named in the Zebras' best players on seven occasions from 13 appearances and has averaged 23 possessions across the last fortnight, impressing with his polished left foot and ability to setup play from the defensive half of the ground.

After missing last weekend’s win over Richmond, decorated defender Fisher comes straight back into Alan Richardson’s 22, bolstering a back six that restricted the Tigers to just 46-points at the MCG.

Star midfielder David Armitage will reach the 150-game milestone this weekend, becoming a life member of St Kilda in the process.

The 28-year-old is one of only five Saints to play every game this season, along with Jack Steven, Jack Newnes, Seb Ross and Leigh Montagna.

St Kilda has the opportunity to post a winning season for the first time since 2012 on Sunday. A win over Justin Leppitsch’s side would elevate the 2016 bottom line to 12-10 – the same record the Saints posted five years ago.
