St Kilda midfielders Seb Ross and Jack Steven have shared the coaches votes from Friday night’s 23-point win over Greater Western Sydney, with Alan Richardson and Leon Cameron allocating them nine votes each.

Ross, who turned 24 on Sunday, continued his rich vein of form against the Giants, collecting 31 possessions – his fourth 30 + haul in a row – (17 contested), nine clearances (career-high) and four inside 50s.

Reigning Trevor Barker Award winner Steven picked up where he left off in Tasmania, this time gathering 29 possessions (13 contested), seven clearances (five centre), six inside 50s and two goals.

Off-season recruit Koby Stevens, who has been offered a one-game suspension for a tackle on Giants defender Nathan Wilson, backed up his strong start last week with another high-quality performance on Friday night.

Stevens, 25, finished with 28 possessions (12 contested), six marks, six inside 50s, five tackles, four clearances and 55.4 pressure points – third most for the Saints.

Rebounding defender Jimmy Webster (29 disposals and five rebound 50s) and ruckman Billy Longer (48 hitouts) also attracted the coaches attention, with the pair receiving two votes and one respectively.

After seven rounds, Adelaide superstar Rory Sloane still leads the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year on 42 votes, four ahead of emerging West Coast star Elliot Yeo (38 votes), while dual Brownlow medallist Gary Ablett (32) continues to move up the leaderboard into third position.
