1st Quarter 19 minute mark
Jack Newnes runs flat out at a 50/50 contest 40 metres out from goal and coming in the same direction at the same speed is 2016 Rising Star winner Callum Mills. Newnes puts his body on the line, the ball spills out to Jack Billings who handballs it over the top to Jade Gresham who runs 15 metres and slots a goal against the flow. Newnes comes from the ground moments later and Nick Riewoldt puts another on the board for back-to-back goals to wrestle back the momentum. A crucial involvement from Newnes in a moment that would end up being his last involvement for the day after he suffers a bout of concussion.

2nd Quarter 21 minute mark
Jack Billings intercepts the ball in the middle of the ground, it falls to the ground and Paddy McCartin gathers under pressure before feeding out a handball to Blake Acres on the burst who burns away from two opponents through the middle of the ground. He tucks the ball under his arm and pumps it deep inside 50 to Tim Membrey who marks over Lewis Melican. Membrey, against the side he spent the first two years of his career at, plays on and goals from 15 metres out, ending a three-goal run from the Swans.
3rd Quarter 14 minute mark
Blake Acres receives the ball 60 metres out, takes three steps and drills a massive goal from 52 metres to keep the Saints in a game that appeared to be slipping away. After six consecutive Sydney scores, including three goals, and a mountain of possession in their forward half, the goal breathes life into the contest. At least for the time being.

4th Quarter 23 minute mark
While the game was well and truly over by this point of the game, key forward Paddy McCartin, in his first game since round 3, takes a strong overhead grab just inside the arc in the right forward pocket. He goes back from 55 metres out and wobbles a goal through St Kilda’s second goal of the last quarter in a disappointing fade out by the Saints. On a difficult day for the Saints, McCartin showed some glimpses of form.
