1st Quarter 2nd Minute

Western Bulldogs defender Robert Murphy handballs over to Matt Suckling at half-back before he is chased down by Jade Gresham who spins him 360 degrees and pins him holding the ball. The ball spills out to Jack Sinclair who dashes forward and kicks deep inside 50 to Jack Billings. Billings plays on and kicks the opening goal of the game, on the back of outstanding pressure from Gresham.

2nd Quarter 11th Minute

Paddy McCartin finds fellow key forward Tim Membrey with a penetrating centring ball 25 metres out, directly in front. But the ball is reversed after Jack Newnes gives away a free kick on the wing for remonstrating with Easton Wood and Jackson Macrae after he was slung to the ground in a tackle after disposing of the ball. The ball moves from a certain shot on goal to back to the wing in a defining moment in what was an underwhelming second quarter.

3rd Quarter 13th Minute

With the Bulldogs in control of the contest and beginning to run away with it, Koby Stevens pumps the ball in deep. Paddy McCartin, Blake Acres and a handful of Dogs compete for the ball in the square. Jack Newnes comes flying through with Mitch Wallis on his hammer and kicks an important goal against the flow, reducing the margin to 15-points midway through the third quarter.

4th Quarter 17th Minute

Leigh Montagna finds Paddy McCartin on the lead who marks 45 metres out on a half-forward flank at the Lockett End. McCartin plucks his seventh mark and goes back from outside the arc and boots his first goal. Minutes later, McCartin takes a strong mark on Marcus Adams in an almost identical spot on the ground and goes back from 50 metres and hits the post. By the final siren, the 2014 No. 1 pick finished with the equal most marks on the ground, hauling in nine for the day.
