St Kilda veteran Nick Riewoldt has been fined for striking North Melbourne key defender Scott Thompson in the second quarter of Friday night’s 17-point win at Etihad Stadium.
The Match Review Panel assessed the incident as intentional conduct with low impact to the body and classified the incident as a $1500 sanction.
The six-time Trevor Barker Award winner can accept a $1000 fine with an early guilty plea due to his clean record.
After missing a game either side of the bye due to bone bruising in his left knee, Riewoldt made an impact in his return, finishing with 21 disposals, 11 marks and 0.3.
