St Kilda champion Nick Riewoldt will return against North Melbourne for his final home game after passing concussion protocols this week.

The six-time Trevor Barker Award winner missed last weekend’s loss to Melbourne but has been cleared to play at Etihad Stadium, at a ground where he has played at more than any other player in history.

The Saints have also named ruckman Tom Hickey and small forward Jack Lonie on their extended interchange, which will be trimmed to a final 22 on Friday afternoon.

2001 No. 1 pick Riewoldt will hang his boots up at the end of this season after 17 years of distinguished service.

The 34-year-old announced his decision to retire a fortnight ago ahead of the game against West Coast in Round 20.

Inside midfielder Koby Stevens has also been named to face the Kangaroos on Sunday after he suffered a concussion in the opening quarter against Melbourne, following a collision with Demons young gun Angus Brayshaw.

Stevens, 26, has endured another interrupted season in his first year at Linen House Centre. The former Western Bulldogs and West Coast midfielder has played 13 games, with a bout of food poisoning, groin issues and suspension interfering with his year.

Alan Richardson’s men broke a six-match losing streak against North Melbourne when the Saints won their last encounter in Round 13.

After suffering three losses by less than a kick in the first five rounds of 2017, Brad Scott’s side has lost nine of their last ten games, conceding an average of 105 points per game in that period.

While St Kilda’s finals prospects realistically ended last Sunday at the MCG, they can still mathematically qualify for September if they win their last two games and other results fall in their favour.

Two key Saints have recommitted their futures to the Saints this week, with first-year skipper Jarryn Geary and rising star Jack Billings inking one and two-year extensions respectively that ties them both to the club until the end of 2019.
