The 2018 season is fast approaching, and we’re excited to celebrate with you at our season launch this Friday 9 March at Frankston Park Oval.
We’re also proud to have Life-Gate on board as the official charity partner for the event.
For 25 years, Life-Gate has provided afterhours street outreach services to the Frankston community.
Their team patrol the streets of Frankston at night and provide hot meals to those experiencing homelessness and/or living in crisis situations. The free meals attract those in need and enable the qualified Life-Gate outreach workers to connect and earn the trust of those attending. From there the workers provide counselling and crisis assistance.
In the last year alone, they assisted over 1,770 people through their counselling, life-skills training and support services.
At season launch you will notice volunteers with collection tins asking for donations.
While the popcorn and choc tops have been generously donated by Reflex, they will be available on the night for a gold coin donation with all proceeds to go directly to Life-Gate. These funds will allow Life-Gate to purchase cooking utensils, pots and small equipment like tables and chairs to continue to assist the people in our community.
