Midfield star Jack Steven has been nominated for Goal of the Year.

Channeling his inner-Socceroo, Steven kicked a spectacular volley from an acute angle, splitting the middle of the goalposts. 

He's one of three nominations this week, up against Melbourne's Charlie Spargo and Essendon's David Myers.

Voting closes the night before the commencement of Round 14.

All members of the public that vote and pick a weekly winner in the 2018 Goal of the Year will go into the draw to win $10,000.

At the end of each 2018 Toyota AFL Premiership Season Round, the AFL Media editorial team will nominate three goals for public voting.

In a change that came into effect for the 2018 Toyota AFL Premiership Season, footy fans will become the eleventh member of the AFL All Australian selection panel who will determine the overall winner for the Goal of the Year Award.

The 2018 Goal of the Year award winner will be announced at the 2018 Brownlow Medal Count. The player that wins the 2018 Goal of the Year will receive $10,000.
