St Kilda Football Club wishes to thank Darren Minchington, who was informed today that he will not be offered a new deal for 2019.

The 24-year-old played 28 games for the Saints after joining the club at pick 65 in the 2012 Rookie Draft.

He kicked 22 goals across his career, enjoying his best season with the club in 2016 when he played 13 games.

Minchington overcame a knee injury sustained in the pre-season to press for senior selection late in 2018 but did not add to his AFL games tally this year.

General Manager of Football Simon Lethlean thanked Minchington for his efforts.

“Darren has been the consummate professional during his time at the club, and was a really popular member of the playing group,” Lethean said.

“We wish him all the best for the future.”

Minchington becomes the seventh Saint to depart the club in 2018, joining Sam Gilbert, Nathan Wright, Hugh Goddard, Nathan Freeman, Ray Connellan and Koby Stevens.
