Rookie trio Jonathon Marsh, Doulton Langlands and Jack Mayo will remain in red, white and black in 2020 after signing one-year contracts.

Marsh and Langlands both spent time in the senior side this season, while Mayo has impressed since making the move over from Perth in the mid-year draft.

“We’ve been really happy with Jonathon, Doulton and Jack this year,” Saints List Manager James Gallagher said.

“Jonathon came to us at a really crucial time and has added nicely to our depth.”

Marsh joined the Saints this year during the Supplemental Selection Period, following injuries to several key players across the pre-season.

He debuted in Round 7 against Greater Western Sydney and has since proved his versatility, playing at both ends of the ground in a further four games in the AFL team.

Langlands also debuted this season, after 18 months at the club.

In a picture-perfect night, he kicked a goal to cement St Kilda’s 27-point win against the Bulldogs and shared the winner’s circle with close friend Nick Coffield and interim coach Brett Ratten.

“Doulton is a really popular member of our playing group and has improved a lot in his short time at the club, and we believe there is a lot more improvement in him,” Gallagher said.

“His attitude to his football and his ability to overcome some injury hurdles has been excellent, so it was great to see his hard work acknowledged with an AFL call-up.

Mayo joined the club in this year’s mid-season rookie draft from WAFL club Subiaco.

“We’re really happy to have been able to secure Jack’s services prior to this year’s National Draft.

“He’s already improved a lot across his time in the VFL and we’re looking forward to seeing what he can produce next season after a full pre-season.”
