Jason Blake was drafted to St Kilda from the Beaumaris Football Club during the 1999 National AFL Draft with selection 24 overall.

He debuted for the Saints in Round 9, 2000 against the Western Bulldogs.

In his 13th season at the Club, Blake has performed whatever role required of him with minimum fuss. The utility was a key member of the AFL’s stingiest defence in 2010, lining up on forwards tall and small, and at times helping out in the ruck.

He played one of the best games of his career in 2011 when he returned from a 10-week lay-off due to a knee injury. The round 20 match against Essendon saw the defender gather 27 possessions in the win.

Jason holds the record for the most AFL games played without accruing a single Brownlow Medal vote.

 To help the Club reposition its List, Jason was delisted from the Veterans List and re-drafted during the 2012 AFL National Draft on to the Primary List.

Jason played his 200th AFL game for the Club in the Season opener against Port Adelaide.

Off the football field, Jason has earned his stripes academically, completing a degree in engineering.
