Jason Gram was traded to the Saints from the Brisbane in 2003, after originally being drafted by the Lions in the 2001 AFL National Draft as their first round pick.

Hailing from Sale in regional Victoria, the defender came close to securing St Kilda’s Best and Fairest in 2006, finishing second. In 2008, he was awarded the Michael Tuck Medal for his best on ground performance during St Kilda’s NAB Cup win.

He finds the ball, breaks lines, has legitimate speed and is a long kick. Jason can be a rebounding defender or play in the midfield.

The 27-year-old averaged 21 disposals per game in 2011, and has played just under 150 games in his AFL career.

Statistically, his best game last year came in round 18 against Essendon where he had 35 touches, took nine marks and kicked two goals.

Jason will miss the start of the 2012 Premiership Season with a hamstring strain sustained while playing for Sandringham during the pre-season.

Outside football, Jason is a keen NBA fan, boasting an extensive memorabilia collection. He is also interested in landscape design.
