Jay was drafted with pick #60 in the 2011 AFL National Draft from the Geelong Falcons in the TAC Cup.

 At 200cm, he the same height as Rhys Stanley and Ben McEvoy, who are all the tallest at the Club.

While he personally prefers to play as a key back, Jay is a versatile player who can develop into a possible ruckman and forward.

His former Falcons Coach acknowledged Jay as the team’s best player with the ball in his hands and averaged 12.2 disposals per game.

 He is a good decision maker and has excellent agility for someone that size.

Jay is athletic and has good skills on both sides, is clean below the knees and is lightning fast.

He played all five games for Vic Country at the 2011 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships, averaging 10 hit-outs per game.

In 2012, Jay will play his football with St Kilda’s VFL affiliate side, Sandringham Football Club.
