A deserving recipient of his second All-Australian award, Dal Santo produced his most prolific season in 2009, averaging 28 disposals. The wonderfully skilled midfielder enjoyed a superb finals series, twice recording 30-plus possession games, and gave the Brownlow Medal count a shake early on, eventually finishing equal sixth. Ranked in the top bracket at the club for most key statistics, most notably Dal Santo was second for hard-ball gets – just two behind Lenny Hayes – in an indication of his improved commitment.

Draft history: 2001 National AFL Draft 1st round selection (St Kilda) No. 13 overall traded by Sydney for Barry Hall and No. 53 (Daniel Hunt).
