Rhys was drafted from SANFL side West Adelaide during the 2008 National Draft at #47 overall.

He made his debut in round 9 of the 2010 season against West Coast Eagles, impressing with nine disposals, three marks, four kicks and five handballs.

Rhys, who comes from Berri, a small country town in South Australia around the corner from teammate Sam Fisher, stands at 200cm, equal tallest at the Club.

Rhys only played two senior games in the 2011 season before a hamstring injury forced him out of the second half of the year.

As an athletic player, he has the ability to perform in the ruck to provide a back-up to Ben McEvoy, but can also perform in the forward line as a fellow tall option to Nick Riewoldt.

He has fantastic speed for his height, which was proven when he won the Grand Final sprint in 2009.

 A promising player who oozes talent, the Club will be hoping for Rhys to feature strongly in season 2012.
