2011 was another outstanding year for Sam Fisher, with the tall defender winning his second Trevor Barker Club Best and Fairest Award.

The 29-year-old averaged 21 disposals and over 6 marks per game playing predominantly in defence, among a few forays throughout the midfield.

Sam led the Saints in rebounds from the defensive 50 and was in the top four for disposals, contested possessions and marks, and was unlucky not to win All-Australian selection.

The versatile defender was selected by St Kilda from South Adelaide (SANFL) as pick #55 in the 2003 AFL Draft, making his debut against Fremantle in Round 7, 2004.

In February 2012, Sam was named in St Kilda’s 2012 Leadership Group.

Away from football, Sam enjoys golf, a sport he could have played professionally, and has shares in a racing horse and greyhound.
