Stephen was originally drafted by St Kilda in the 1999 Rookie Draft, and elevated to the senior side after only one year.

The 32-year-old, who as well as playing football would like to be remembered for his humour, is revered by many as the most accomplished small forward in the League.

 Despite kicking more goals in previous years, 2011 was potentially Stephen’s most accomplished season after breaking the Etihad Stadium record for the most goals at the venue (he kicked his 300^th against Collingwood during round 21).

Furthermore, the excitement machine kicked a career-high 11 goals against the Brisbane Lions at Etihad Stadium in Round 22, 2005. 

 The father of two has proven that height isn’t a factor and was able to help out fellow forward and Captain Nick Riewoldt during his injury slump last year, leading the Saints in goals and behinds.

 Stephen, has become a mentor to new arrivals Ahmed Saad and Terry Milera, who both play similar positions.

 He heads in to the 2012 season with 490 goals, and if all goes to plan, will play his 250th game for the Club midway through the season.
