Thousands of fans lined the streets of Melbourne on Friday afternoon to wish their heroes luck ahead of Saturday afternoon's AFL Grand Final between St Kilda and Geelong.
Rain fell for most of the parade but it didn't dampen the spirits of supporters who were out in force to watch the procession as it progressed down Swanston Street and up toward Treasury Place. The teams were then presented on stage where Nick Riewoldt and Tom Harley spoke and posed with the 2009 Premiership trophy.
A brief media conference followed in the Treasury Building where Riewoldt, Harley, Ross Lyon and Mark Thompson spoke with the media ahead of this much anticipated clash.
Fans grabbed every vantage point along the parade route including in trees, on balconies and in offices overlooking the streets of the CBD. Despite the weather, it was a true Melbourne tradition at this time of year and one that nobody wanted to miss.
The Saints would like to thank everyone for turning up to make it such a memorable occasion.
