St Kilda’s elite training and administration facility in Frankston is changing by the day, with construction crews hard at work throughout the summer months.
As of late January, most of the framework has been installed.
The football department and main administration building is the most advanced part of the site and will be ready for roofing to be added in the coming weeks.
The walls of the basketball stadium were recently put in place, insulation was added to the roof and the ground was leveled in anticipation of the floorboards and ceiling being completed.
Right next door to the indoor sports hall is a recovery pool and spa. While it resembles a concrete shell at present, the installation has been successfully tested and will be put to good use in future years as our boys prepare and recover from games.
All of the steel required for the gymnasium is on site and will be moved in to place shortly.
A lot of work has gone into the playing surface to ensure it is of the highest standard. Irrigation and drainage works are the priority at present before the seeds are sown.
