St Kilda have locked away top spot on the Victorian Blind Football League (VBFL) ladder as they continue their unbeaten run ahead of the final round of the 2021 season.

Coming into Saturday with a 5-0 record, the Saints went to work against Hawthorn as they defended thoroughly to come away with a 38-point win.

They would continue their momentum against Essendon, running away with the game as they came away as 59-point victors.

Lawrence Raja’s side then rounded out the day against a competitive Western Bulldogs outfit, grinding out a hard-fought 19-point victory.

The win over the Dogs ensured the Saints would finish atop the VBFL ladder ahead of the final round of the season.

The Saints will take on the Hawks next Saturday before the finals commence, with the Grand Final to take place the following Saturday.

The matches will take place out of Action Indoor Sports Centre in Tullamarine, with games running from 10am until 1pm.

Meanwhile St Kilda’s VWFL season came to an end on Sunday as Ryan Smith’s side fell to the Bombers in the Preliminary Final.

The Saints had come off a thrilling 10-point win over Richmond in the Semi-Final, trailing by as much as 20-points at the half-time break before working their way back into the game.

However, they would fall just short against Essendon, going down to the Dons by five-points to bring a close to their year.
