St Kilda Football Club has confirmed a further five list changes in preparation for the upcoming AFLW Season.

Alana Woodward, Tahlia Meyer and Paige Price have been informed they will not be offered new contracts for the Saints’ next campaign, while Kate McCarthy has reached a mutual agreement with the club to be delisted in order to explore her options.

Isabella Shannon has also made the decision to temporarily step away from the game to focus on her studies.

McCarthy joined St Kilda in 2020 after three seasons at Brisbane, which included All-Australian and leading goalkicker honours. Across her 16-game career at the Saints, McCarthy spent two years as part of the Saints’ leadership group (2020-2021) and was appointed co-vice-captain in 2021.

Shannon was the third player signed ahead of St Kilda’s inaugural AFLW season, playing 17 matches across three years in a variety of roles.

The No. 11, who boards in Tasmania during the off-season as part of her Bachelor of Natural Environments (Wilderness & Philosophy), will spend time in south-east Asia before returning to the Apple Isle.

Meyer lined up for a total of 10 games after joining St Kilda as an undrafted free agent for Season 2021, Woodward added another two to her name this year after a previous five matches for Richmond, while Paige Price was unable to take to the field due to injury.

Price was placed on the inactive list last November, allowing Lucy Burke to be elevated to the club’s primary list.

Head of AFLW Tessie McManus thanked all five players for their contributions to St Kilda.

“On behalf of the club, I would like to thank Kate, Isabella, Tahlia, Alana and Paige for everything they have invested into the club and our program,” McManus said.

“Irrespective of their time spent at the club or the number of games played, all have helped build a platform for women’s football and inspire a new generation to pull on the boots.

“We wish all five women the best for the future, both on and off the field, and they are always welcome at St Kilda.”

All clubs must have three list spots available heading into the AFL Women’s Draft, which will be held on Wednesday 29 June.

The latest list changes follow the departures of Tilly Lucas-Rodd (Hawthorn), Cat Phillips (Essendon) and Jacqui Vogt (Essendon) to expansion clubs.
