Jack Higgins will play his first game at senior level in almost a month as St Kilda prepares to begin its post-bye run on a high against Brisbane.

The 23-year-old suffered his second concussion of the season in the club's Round 9 win over Geelong before being held from a return to action after entering AFL Health & Safety Protocols.

Higgins will be flanked by fellow ex-Tiger Dan Butler, who bagged five goals in his most recent outing for Sandringham. Butler was previously battling through Achilles soreness which forced him to be subbed out during Round 8 against Melbourne.

The incoming pair replace Cooper Sharman (omitted), Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera (managed) and Ryan Byrnes (medi-sub) in the line-up.

Jarrod LienertJack Billings and Hunter Clark have been named as emergencies alongside Wanganeen-Milera.

Defender Callum Wilkie will serve as stand-in captain in the absence of Jack Steele, while Max King and Butler will play their 50th games for the club.

St Kilda will square off with Brisbane on Saturday 11 June at the Gabba, beginning at 7:25pm.

IN: Butler, Higgins
OUT: Bynes (medi-sub), Sharman (omitted), Wanganeen-Milera (managed)

Last week's medical sub: Ryan Byrnes (unused)
