Max King has earned selection in the AFL Players’ Association’s 22Under22 squad for the third consecutive year.

King, the only Saint nominated in this year’s pool, has built upon his promising 2021 campaign to continue his ascent as the club’s most exciting forward prospects.

The 22-year-old has booted a career-best 47 goals from 20 games, sitting equal-fifth in the Coleman race alongside Richmond’s Tom Lynch and the Western Bulldogs’ Aaron Naughton.

The 22Under22 concept aims to recognise the best players in the competition aged 22 or under, with the initial 40-man squad refined to a fan-voted team of 22 after a week-long voting period.

Voting for the 2022 AFL Players’ Association 22Under22 side will be open from Wednesday 10 August 10 to Wednesday 17 August, with the final line-up to be announced on Tuesday 23 August.
