LENNY Hayes will talk in-depth about his 2011 season-ending Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury at the 13th AFL Grand Final Symposium later this month.
Developed by the AFL Medical Officers Association, AFL Physiotherapists Association and the AFL Sport Science Association, this year’s symposium focuses on current issues in the AFL in regards to supplements and ACL injuries.
Hayes, 33, has ruptured his ACL twice, once in 2006 and again in 2011.
The Norm Smith medallist’s 2011 campaign was over by round two, but he made a spectacular comeback in the twilight of his career, playing all 22 games of the 2012 season, capping it off by taking home the club’s best and fairest award.
Hayes will join Hawthorn’s Matt Suckling and former Richmond player, coach, president and physiotherapist Barry Richardson to speak about the injury and his rehabilitation.
