Nick and Catherine Riewoldt have welcomed their first child.

NICK and Catherine Riewoldt have welcomed their first child into the world, with Catherine giving birth to baby boy James late on Thursday evening.

James Lawrence Riewoldt was born weighing a healthy 8lbs 13oz.

"And just like that... my heart is full," Catherine posted on Instagram.

"He is as perfect as can be. Such overwhelming and indescribable love!!!"

It's been a fruitful 2014 for the St Kilda Father/Son academy, with Hunter Hayes and Ryder Blake joining Stewart Loewe's twins Lachlan and Tom earlier this year.
