St Kilda Football Club wishes to recognise the efforts of departing coaches Simon McPhee, Rohan Welsh and Lindsay Gilbee.

McPhee joined the Saints in 2012 as Senior Coach of VFL affiliate Sandringham after a decorated coaching tenure at Claremont in the WAFL.

After three years at the helm of the Zebras, he transitioned into a development coach role with the senior team before stepping into the midfield line coaching role this season.

Welsh joined the Saints in 2015 after an extensive stint coaching elite junior talent. Following three years in charge of the backline, Welsh moved to forward line coach in 2018.

Gilbee, a veteran of the Bulldogs, joined the Saints in 2013 as a development coach and also assumed the role of Sandringham senior coach in 2017.

General Manager of Football Simon Lethlean thanked the trio for their commitment and expertise during their time at the Saints.

“Like Adam Kingsley who we farewelled earlier in the week, these three men are all quality people who have put in a tremendous amount of work for the club over a long period of time,” Lethlean said.

“The assistant coaching role is one that often goes unrewarded and we want to acknowledge their commitment to the Saints and wish them best for the future.”
