Over two days, members of St Kilda's Next Generation Academy were given a taste of life as an AFL footballer.

The elite talent camp focused on football skills, gym sessions and boxing, but importantly also addressed education, physical recovery, goal setting, mindfullness and mental health.

Day 1

The day starts bright and early, with the group arriving at the St Kilda Sea Beaths at 8:30am sharp.

First up was an Acknowledgement of Country, followed by an introduction and welcome to camp from Academy Head Coach Nick Dal Santo.

The boys are then split into groups, with St Kilda's Player Development Manager Andy Farrow taking them through a series of goal setting activities.

After that, it's time for the boys to hit the gymunder the watchful eye of Academy Physical Performance Manager Rhys Painter.

Day 2

First up on day two? A session on intensity and work rate.

Group craft, boxing and conditioning exercises followed, while lessons on recovery education and how to refuel were learnt over lunch.

The camp wrapped up with a goals review, a session on mindfullness and a reminder that nutrition was just as important as what happened in the gym.
