Young defender Oscar Clavarino will miss approximately 6-8 weeks of football with an ankle injury.

The 19-year-old suffered a high ankle syndesmosis strain after falling awkwardly in a marking contest during Saturday’s intra-club match.

“Oscar will be out for a little while which is disappointing given how strong his pre-season has been,” General Manager of Football Simon Lethlean said.

“He will have the ankle operated on this week and be back in training in approximately four weeks from now.

“It’s a set-back but one we’re confident he’ll overcome and be back building on the work he has done over summer.”
