For the first time ever, four Indigenous Saints will run out together in the red, white and black.
Jade Gresham, Matty Parker and Robbie Young will be joined by excitement machine Ben Long, who returns to the senior side in place of the injured Ben Paton.
Fittingly, the historic occasion will take place in the annual Sir Doug Nicholls Round, played in honour and recognition of the game’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stars.
And Long’s immediate recall is particularly pertinent given his family totems – drawn by sister Emily – will adorn this year’s Indigenous guernseys.
Long’s aggression and inside work were on full display in the VFL last week, with the explosive Saint spending quality minutes through the midfield to finish with 15 disposals and four tackles.
Meanwhile, Jimmy Webster will spend the next fortnight on the sidelines after requiring surgery on his right hand to remove an existing metal plate.
