What:

St Kilda heads to the 2016 NAB AFL Draft armed with three picks - No. 23, No. 36 and No. 60.

Who:

Predicting which club will pick which player is always an extremely difficult task, especially beyond the first round.

Experts have labelled this year’s crop as one of the more even groups in recent times, and with the Saints’ first pick not until the early part of the second round, the job of forecasting who the club will take at pick No. 23 is very tough. Below are some journalists predictions:

Emma Quayle (The Age) – Sam Powell-Pepper (East Perth)

Callum Twomey (afl.com.au) – Sam Powell-Pepper (East Perth)

Sam Landsberger (Herald Sun) – Josh Battle (Dandenong Stingrays)

Brett Anderson (Inside Football/SEN 1116) – Sam Powell-Pepper (East Perth)

Behind the pick: No. 23

Could West Australian Sam Powell-Pepper be a Saint be the end of Friday night?

When:

Coverage starts on Fox Footy from 7pm.

SEN will also be providing an in-depth analysis of the entire draft from 6.45pm.

afl.com.au are broadcasting a countdown show from 3pm.

Where:

Hordern Pavilion, Moore Park, Sydney

Why:

St Kilda originally had pick No. 10, before the club elected to trade its first round pick to Hawthorn in exchange for a 2017 first round pick and two 2016 first round picks (No. 23 and No.36).

Behind the pick: No. 36

While the Hawks used the Saints’ first round pick to help secure Jaeger O'Meara from Gold Coast, St Kilda bolstered its overall draft position across a two-year window.

Look for:

While the Saints’ first pick is currently No. 23, this will definitely shuffle down one, two or even three picks once academy bids have been accounted for. This will have a flow on effect for the other two picks later in the order.
