Since 2016, St Kilda and Sydney have shared the hosting of the Pride Game. The Pride Game sends a message to young and not so young LGBTIQ people that they are welcome and safe in this sport. That diversity is cause for celebration, not disrespect or exclusion.

In addition to our own Pride Games we also supported the below:

  • + Sandringham Zebras Pride Cup
  • + Southern Saints Pride Cup
  • + Yarra Glen Pride Cup
  • + Hamilton Pride Game
  • + Daylesford Pride Cup
  • + Southern Football Netball League Pride Round
  • + Annual Midsumma Festival Pride March
  • + Queensland Pride Round

It goes without saying that every person who goes to the football should be able to experience that sense of belonging that we associate with footy, no matter their gender identity or sexual preferences…The work we do throughout the year in celebrating diversity and inclusion is something we as a club are proud to be a part of, and the Pride Game is the ultimate show of that.

St Kilda Football Club was awarded the Highest Ranked Club at the 2019 Australian Pride in Sport Awards. This is the third year in a row that the club’s work in the LGBTIQ inclusion space has been recognised by Pride in Sport (PSI).

The PSI, an initiative of the Australian Human Rights Commission and the Australian Sports Commission, has been specifically designed to assess the level of inclusion of LGBTIQ people within Australian sport.
